Smart phones have made photography very popular. Almost every person with a camera phone shoots dozens of pictures every week. Subject of these photographs is mostly friends and family or nature, other than of course selfies. Selfies have become so popular that “Selfie Corners“ are being created in various institutions and establishments to attract people. These photographs may attract likes on the social media, but are seldom saleable. To put this new found hobby to productive use, a photography club “The Shutter-Bugs” was formed in the college.
The TSB started its activities during the session 2019. On the 19th of August on the occasion of World Photography Day a formal club was constituted. Initially photography competitions were organized to bring out the best in them. Sessions were organized to make them familiar to the different types of subjects and equipments of photography. Workshops on basics of photography were held to improve their skills.
Armed with the basic knowledge “The Shutter Bugs” will launch a series of photography competition on different Themes and Subjects. They will be also initiated into photography for Fun and photography for Money. They will be also taught to monetize their creation through various projects and online platforms.
