Introduction 

 

Library is the most important and essential part of an institution. It provides all the necessary resource for teaching job. College is the center of higher education among the teaching institutes. An effective teaching can be done with the help of available literature and reference books available in the library. Library generates oxygen of the institute. College without library is like a   soulless body 

Library has the relevant books, research journals, text books, magazines, maps, atlas, Project reports, research projects, solved and unsolved question papers, related to different courses to assist the students as well as teachers.

 

Organization

The Library is the Central Library of M.J. College Junwani Road Kohka Bhilai Durg   serving the needs of different subject and department of Colleges The library have providing service to own users (Student, Research scholar, Academic staff and office staff ),  ex-student  and other user of society. 

 

e-Services

The library provides NLIST Consortium of e-Resources in different subjects of college for teaching, reading, self study and researchUsers click www.nlist.inflibnet.ac.in and login.


 

Online Thesis, Dissertation and Synopsis

Shodhganga: Doctoral Thesis Repository, More than  …online full text thesis are available. Users click  www.shodhganga.inflibnet.ac.in and access online Thesis.

 

Shodhgangotri : Users click  www.shodhgangotri.inflibnet.ac.in and access online Synapses.

 

Circulation Service:

Computerized circulation section in library. 150 to 200 books circulate per day. Books issue to user as per following table:


 

Reprographic Service

Library has provided reprographic (photo copy service) for users

Timing: 9.30 am To 6.00 pm


 

Internet & e-Library service

Library has provided Internet & e-Library service for different group of users

 

Rules and Regulations

Working hours

Working Days: 9.00am to 5.00pm

Sundays and other holidays: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Other rules:

1. Silence will be strictly observed in the library

2. The mobile phone should be switched off while entering the library.

3. Smoking and spitting is strictly prohibited in the library

4. No user of the Library shall write with pen or pencil or any mark or note or cause damage to any publication of the Library.

5. If a publication is lost or distorted or if a page of the picture is removed by the readers, it must be replaced with a new copy.

6. The borrower is required to examine the books while receiving them. The ultimate borrower will be held responsible for any loss.

7. Students will not be allowed in the Technical Room/Store Room and Movement Counter of the Library.

 

Access to Library

Every person entering the library has to sign the Visiting Register kept at the entrance of the library.

Bags, books, umbrellas and other personal belongings as asked to be kept at a property counter. Only loose paper and pen/pencil are allowed inside the library.

Loan privilege available

The electronic bar-coded membership card for issuance of books is issued as under:

Book issued as per respective category for 07 days and can be withdrawn at any time.

20/- is charged for issue of duplicate membership ID card. A member who has lost a card is required to give a written report to the librarian

The electronic bar-coded membership ID card is non-transferable. The borrower will be responsible for loss/damage to the books and other library material issued on his card.

The book can be renewed for a further period of 07 days, provided there is no demand from other readers

CD ROM databases, e-resources and Internet services are available for information retrieval.

Users are allowed to use this facility to fill the prescribed demand form for educational and educational purpose only and not for personal purposes.

User is not allowed to make any changes in PC's settings, add any executable program, delete files etc.

Depending on the rush, time constraints may be enforced by the library staff on duty.

All users are required to make an entry in the register maintained for this purpose.

User should not remove/damage any hardware/software etc. or interchange keyboard, mouse etc.

Use of laptops and computers in the library can be done at your own risk.

The library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of beneficial books and periodicals for the students and faculty to facilitate and disseminate knowledge widely.

The library department aims to scale new heights with an example among other districts.

 

The library strategizes and prioritizes for incorporating the latest technologies in concepts and adopting a student and faculty friendly approach.

The library adopts approaches and strategies to offer a comprehensive approach and services for the dissemination and dissemination of knowledge beneficial to the students and faculties.

The library also provides various other facilities such as-

1.   Book loan facility for all students at the time of examination.

2.   Extra book facility for sincere students.

3.   Book bank for the meritorious and poor students.

4.   Availability of back issue of journals/magazines.

5.    Internet access facility.

6.    Photo copy facility.
